Reverse Transfer

A Reverse Transfer allows students who have completed credits toward an associate degree to receive an MCC degree even if they have already transferred to a four-year college or university.

Students who completed a minimum of 22.5 quarter hours at MCC and then transferred to a four-year college or university can transfer credit back to MCC to earn an MCC associate degree.

In order to earn an MCC associate degree through Reverse Transfer, you must have completed a minimum of 22.5 quarter hours at MCC and have transferred to a regionally accredited institution and subsequently earned a 2.0 GPA or higher. MCC will only accept grades of “C” or higher.

  • An associate degree can open the door to additional job opportunities or higher pay.
  • Students can earn an associate degree while pursuing their bachelor’s degree.
  • Transfer students with an associate degree are much more likely to persist to a bachelor’s degree.
