Certified Nursing Assistant
Overview
The Certified Nursing Assistant course (HLTH 1200) at MCC prepares students to become a vital part of the healthcare world as a CNA.
CNAs assistant nurses and doctors with basic nursing tasks related to meeting physical needs and activities of daily living.
In order to become state-certified, students must take a state-approved program and pass a state-administered competency evaluation.

The MCC Certified Nursing Assistant course helps students to become a CNA, which some Nursing programs require for students wanting to become a Registered Nurse. Some medical school programs also recommend working as a CNA prior to entering a pre-medicine program.
Applications for October section and 24/WI are currently open. Email CNA@mccneb.edu for Fremont enrollment and/or questions.
Students will not be registered for class until application and supplemental documents have been received.
JOB & SALARY OUTLOOK
There are multiple job opportunities in the healthcare field for CNAs. Currently CNAs may start anywhere from $15 to $20 per hour, and may be even higher in some agencies.
