Be Part of a Student's Success Story

Metropolitan Community College is committed to providing relevant, student-focused education to a diverse community of learners. Unfortunately, not every student has the financial means to pursue their educational dreams. You can make a lasting impact by helping those in need at MCC—giving the gift of education.

The Metropolitan Community College Foundation offers numerous ways to contribute. Your gift can help students with tuition, enhance academic programs, upgrade technology, support faculty and staff development, and so much more. Find the perfect way to give and start making a difference for MCC students today! Need help deciding? Call the MCC Foundation at 531-MCC-2346 for guidance.

To make an immediate impact on students, giving to the greatest need prioritizes dollars powering support and interventions that otherwise would not be possible. With the help of the College's extended family of alumni and friends, thousands of students have had their educational goals become a reality. Your support ensures that MCC students continue to enjoy the benefits of our groundbreaking programs, outstanding faculty, and magnificent facilities.

Student Support

  • Immediate and Ongoing Student Support - Annual scholarships can be set up to immediately benefit students. Named scholarships run for set periods of time and for the program of your choosing. Endowed scholarships allow you to invest in students today – and continue to give far into the future. For example, you can take up to five years to fund a $10,000 endowed scholarship.
  • Military-Connected Support - MCC supports service members and military-connected individuals as they pursue their academic and career goals through military-specific advising and career planning and community supports. Book scholarships, special programs and advising are some of the ways your gift can help.
  • Disability Support Services - Our Disability Support Services office values students on the basis of ability and access to all. Your gift can help us enhance accommodations and offer assistive technologies to advance student success.
  • Other Student Support - MCC students wear many hats – employee, parent, student, to name a few. Sometimes it’s the other costs of living outside of tuition and fees that present barriers to completing their degrees. Your gift can help fund emergency support to keep students in school, help pay for housing, transportation, books, uniforms or classroom supplies.

Program Support

  • Dual Credit/Career Academies - With the Nebraska community college tuition waiver, resident students are eligible for free tuition while in high school through 2026. Your support of books and other materials required for courses ensures financial need doesn't stand in the way of any student who wants to get a head start on college.
  • Adult Education - For nearly 50,000 adults in our region, a high school diploma is an unrealized dream. But most livable-wage jobs require at least some post-high school training. Bridging that gap are our adult education offerings, including GED instruction and testing, and English learner classes to neighborhoods, along with dynamic workforce training.
  • Gateway to College - When the high school environment doesn’t work for students, Gateway to College gives a way to start fresh on a college campus. Students take classes at the Fort Omaha Campus and earn credit for both high school and college coursework, getting the full college experience in an alternative format.
  • Academic Program Growth - With a multitude of programs at 14 locations, opportunities for MCC students are limitless. Your support can ensure our programs stay current with today’s ever-changing workforce needs.
  • Faculty Development/Endowed Chairs - To make sure MCC instruction keeps pace, our faculty complete a wide variety of professional development opportunities, including conferences, workshops and return-to-industry weeks at local businesses. Your support helps instructors stay current and prepare students for the modern workforce. When you support a faculty position long-term, you secure program growth, provide financial stability and promote flexibility in instruction.
  • College for Kids and Teens - Every summer MCC mixes fun and learning with weeklong programs for kids from ages three to 14, offering youngsters a taste of college and a sense of accomplishment. Your support provides scholarships for families with financial need and keeps learning accessible.

Cost is one of the biggest barriers many people experience when pursuing a college education, so providing funding for scholarships is an impactful way to improve lives. There are many existing scholarships that donors can contribute to, but donors also have the opportunity to establish their own scholarship in one of two ways:

  • A named expendable scholarship can be established starting at $5,000. These begin being awarded immediately after being established, are awarded based on student need, and last until the fund is empty.
  • A named endowed scholarship can be established starting with a minimum of $10,000. These scholarships are managed by a professional wealth management firm and are initially vested for four years. After this period, investment income will be used to award scholarships on an ongoing basis.

With both expendable and endowed scholarships, the donor who establishes the fund is able to set criteria for student eligibility. To learn more or to establish a fund, please reach out to the MCC Foundation at 531-MCC-2346 or foundation@mccneb.edu

  • Capital Projects - MCC continually investments in equipment and facilities. Our current Facilities Master Plan lays out a responsible framework for growth designed to provide students with tools and opportunities for lifelong learning.
  • Technology Investments - Always changing, technology supports everything we do. But constant upgrades and training can tax diminishing resources. Your support can help us keep pace with technology changes and make sure all MCC students can integrate technology into their learning and lives.
  • Public Art - Quality learning environments impact educational outcomes. MCC enriches our learning spaces with public art that is inspired by and designed for our students. Your donations will help us acquire new works and support collaborative projects between community artists and students.
  • MCC Gallery of Art and Design - A live learning lab for students in the commercial and creative arts, the gallery at the Elkhorn Valley Campus welcomes visitors to view our talent, our process, and our work. Featured artists from around the region and country have regular showings each academic year. Your gift will support gallery operations and shows, and fund annual student awards.

International/Intercultural Programming

MCC enriches its curriculum and community through diverse educational activities including the Intertribal Powwow, International Fair, Diversity Matters Film, Lecture and Book Series. Your support allows us to bring these rich opportunities to students and the community free of charge.
