Applying External Scholarships

Applying outside scholarships to your student account

Have you received an outside scholarship from an agency, your community, high school, or other organization not connected to MCC? Congratulations! Follow the steps below to apply your external scholarship to your student account:

• Report your outside scholarship to the Financial Aid Office
  • Email financialaid@mccneb.edu with the following information about the outside scholarship
    • Donor name
    • Scholarship amount
• Scholarship checks can be mailed to:
  • Metropolitan Community College: Student Financial Services
    PO Box 3777
    Omaha, NE 68103-0777
• With the check, make sure to include the following information:
  • MCC student ID number
  • The name of the Scholarship provider
  • Specific instructions (if any) concerning how funds should be used
• Send your information as soon as possible before the start of the quarter.
  • It can take up to two weeks to process outside scholarships, therefore please have the check sent before the first day of quarter if at all possible.
  • Checks arriving after the first day of the quarter may be applied the following quarter.
• Unless otherwise stated, scholarships will be divided equally between quarters the student is enrolled.
