The general scholarship application needs to be completed once per academic year. Throughout the year, students are encouraged to check the Scholarship Dashboard in AwardSpring to see if they have any follow up work to complete.
If you don't see your MCC Program of Study listed, select the option that most closely matches your intended field of study. If none of the options fit, select "Other/Not Listed".
- For current MCC students - your current GPA has already been recorded for you.
- For new/returning students - enter your last known cumulative high school or college GPA.
Your AwardSpring Dashboard will indicate your application has been submitted and you will receive an email notification as confirmation.
There are many AI tools available to students, such as ChatGPT. While AI tools may be helpful for brainstorming ideas, outlining, or editing, your final essay must be your own work. You must write all essays and short responses submitted for review in your application. Reviewers should hear your voice and your perspective when reading your essay. The quality of your writing is not as important as the message you’re sharing.
- Current MCC students have access to workshops and individualized help at MCC campuses and online. Visit the MCC Writing Center for more information or to make an appointment.
- New/returning students may contact Katie Hupp at the MCC Writing Center for guidance and resources, kehupp@mccneb.edu or 531-622-4529.
Students are required to write a thank you letter in the scholarship acceptance form that accompanies a scholarship offer. Basic elements of a thank you letter include a greeting; an expression of gratitude for the scholarship; how the scholarship impacts you; and a closing signature.
