About Community Education

Metropolitan Community College Community and Workforce Education provides lifelong learning opportunities to citizens within the greater Omaha four county service area. We strive to meet the lifelong learning needs of our community by offering high-quality, accessible, innovative and responsive education and training programs to learners of all ages by building on the strengths of and collaborating with the resources within the college and community. We offer a full continuum of learning opportunities for ages three through retirement. These learning opportunities are offered at a variety of sites throughout the metropolitan area, both face-to-face and online.

Metropolitan Community College responds to the needs of our community. If there’s a class or workshop that you don’t see offered in our mailer, share it with us. Email your ideas to continuingeducation@mccneb.edu.

If you would like to receive updates concerning upcoming Community Education classes, workshops and tours, please submit your name and email address using the form below. Metropolitan Community College will not share or sell your information to any other organization. To receive our quarterly Community Education catalog via mail, please add your mailing address.

Reduced tuition: People 62 years of age or older are eligible for half-price tuition on most Community and Workforce Education courses. Ineligible courses are marked with an asterisk (*). Courses marked with an asterisk are not eligible for the college’s employee/dependent tuition waiver, incentives or other promotional offers.

Payment: Payment is due at the time of registration.

Refunds: An automatic refund is made if MCC cancels a class. To withdraw your registration before a class starts, please call 531-MCC-5231. Refunds will be issued to students who drop a class at least one business day (14 days for tours) prior to the class start date. No refunds will be issued for classes dropped on or after the class start date. Refunds for international travel experiences vary. Specific terms and conditions will be listed on the travel packet for that international experience.

Learners under age 16: MCC Community and Workforce Education is pleased to welcome learners of all ages. However, learners between the ages of 12-15 wishing to enroll in non-youth courses should seek permission from the program director. For more information, call 531-MCC-2620.

Disability Support ServicesFor individuals with a disability requiring an accommodation to participate in any program or activity, please contact Disability Support Services at 531-622-3841 at least 10 days prior to the program for consideration of your accommodation request. For trips and tours, advance notice of up to one month is requested.

Photography release: In consideration of acceptance of enrollment in Community and Workforce Education courses, I authorize Metropolitan Community College to use my image, likeness, name and comments in, but not limited to, photographs, videos and audio recordings created or used for the purposes of publicity/marketing and advertising for the College.

Liability: MCC assumes no liability for accidents that occur while participating in Community and Workforce Education classes and provides no funds to cover medical costs. Participants are reminded that participation is entirely voluntary and are strongly urged to have their own health insurance. It is understood that participation is voluntary and MCC is not responsible for injuries or accidents and all liability against them is waived.

Customers who no longer wish to receive mailings from MCC can call 531-MCC-2400 to be removed from all College mailing lists.
